Program Overview
The Graduate Program in Radiological and Imaging Sciences at Alfaisal University in collaboration with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) offers advanced professional training and research opportunities with international caliber faculty. It leads to a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree. This is a 42 credit two year courses-only master’s. There are two tracks for students to choose from: Radiologic & Imaging Sciences, and Ultrasound. The first has been approved by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) and the second one has been submitted for SCFHS certification.
Based on letter number 18003583 dated 27/01/1440H 7 Oct 2018 from SCHS university Graduate programs / Clinical and nonclinical ,are not required to have SHCS approval or accreditation. The only approval required for any program is from MOE and NCAAA.
Radiological & Imaging Sciences
Aims to prepare and train lecturers in undergraduate and technical supervision, managers of radiologic and imaging services. Students in this track; in addition to their training in the advanced sciences and practices of medical radiologic and imaging clinical services, will receive practical training in pedagogical practices, teaching and learning, outcomes assessment, and academic programmatic accreditation. The focus is on technical management and education of imaging and related services, quality assurances, including clinical service accreditation by the ABR and other comparable accreditation organizations.
Ultrasound
Designed for sonographers who want to practice advanced clinical ultrasound in their professional roles. Lectures are organized in block release, in conjunction with compulsory clinical placements. In accordance with accepted good practice, the program integrates theory with training, meaning that the student will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations. Clinical units include Abdominal, Breast, Thyroid, Reproductive, Obstetrics, Musculoskeletal, Pediatric, Neonatal, Echo-cardiac and Vascular medical ultrasound. The final semester of the program focuses on developing research skills via an ultrasound research/capstone project in collaboration with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) and other clinical partners.
Admission Requirements
- A bachelor's degree accepted by The Ministry of Education (MOE) in radiation.
- A satisfactory scholastic average; a minimum grade average of "good" in the bachelor’s degree.

- Applicant should provide one recent letter of recommendation from professors who taught or from a manager at the workplace.
- The graduate study application must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee payable to Alfaisal University, which is equal to SAR 600.
- An Interview with the applicant may be requested if necessary.

Master of Radiological and Imaging Sciences is a 2-year program
Tuition Fees
Students are allowed to repeat a maximum of 6 CH during their study without incurring extra fees. If students exceed the allowed CH, the normal CH rate will apply.

Scholarships
Alfaisal University provides thesis scholarship up to 50% for thesis programs only. You need to fulfill the following requirements & conditions:
- Cumulative GPA (3.00 out of 4.00 and above) by the end of the first academic year.
- Full payment of the total tuition fees (100,000 SAR) by the end of the first academic year.
