Program Overview
The MBS-HAT Track is a new track under the MBS program and its aim is to introduce basic science concepts in thrombosis and hemostasis with research methods and presentation skills. This track will focus on principles of coagulation system, biochemistry, basic genetics, laboratory testing and drugs monitoring for bleeding and anticoagulation. It will also involve introduction to quality management systems and their applications in laboratory testing (collection, processing, testing and interpretation of different coagulation tests). In addition, the track aims to strengthen the principles of research as well as to improve the clinical practice. It will also include teaching of skills to write thesis in the field of thrombosis and hemostasis. It will be taught over two years and offered for individuals especially targeting Bachelor of Medicine (MBBS, MD) and Bachelors in biological sciences. The track is designed to provide graduates with advanced knowledge in field of thrombosis and hemostasis. Upon completion of this track, the student would be awarded a degree in Master of Biomedical Sciences in thrombosis and hemostasias Track from Alfaisal University.

Career Prospects
The graduates of this program will be able to further advance their career in coagulation laboratories, Further the graduates can also find employment in hospital services aiding coagulation and thrombosis services in the hospital and will likely have job prospects in pharmaceutical industry as well.
The graduates can also pursue a PhD in hemostasis and thrombosis.
Admission Requirements
- A bachelor's degree accepted by The Ministry of Education (MOE) in a related field.
- A satisfactory scholastic average; a minimum grade average of "good" in the bachelor’s degree.
- Alfaisal Graduates or applicants who come from a country or political entity
where English is not the official language adequate proficiency in English to do
graduate work, as evidenced by

- Applicant should provide one recent letter of recommendation from professors who taught or from a manager at the workplace.
- The graduate study application must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee payable to Alfaisal University, which is equal to SAR 600.
- An Interview with the applicant may be requested if required.

Tuition Fees
Students are allowed to repeat a maximum of 6 CH during their study without incurring extra fees. If students exceed the allowed CH, the normal CH rate will apply.

Scholarships
Alfaisal University provides thesis scholarship up to 50% for thesis programs only. You need to fulfill the following requirements & conditions:
- Cumulative GPA (3.00 out of 4.00 and above) by the end of the first academic year.
- Full payment of the total tuition fees (100,000 SAR) by the end of the first academic year.
