Visiting PhD Students Criteria

Alfaisal University welcomes visiting students for a maximum of two consecutive semesters. To apply as a visiting student, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. The student needs to send an email with a Letter of Permission from her/his current university that includes the courses she/he plans to take at Alfaisal University to gradstudies@alfaisal.edu.
  2. Advanced payment of tuition fees for the courses that the student will be taking.
  3. For non-Saudi students, a valid Iqama.

Non-Degree PhD Students Criteria

A PhD non-degree student takes credit-bearing courses but does not pursue a PhD degree. Non-degree students register for courses on a space-available basis. Alfaisal University degree candidates have first priority for registration. Non-degree students must demonstrate course prerequisites and may need approval from the respective department of the College. Non-degree students are not eligible for financial aid. Alfaisal University welcomes non-degree students and they must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. The student needs to send an email that includes the courses she/he plans to take at Alfaisal University to gradstudies@alfaisal.edu.
  2. Advanced payment of tuition fees for the courses that the student will be taking.
  3. Non-degree students cannot register for a course without fulfilling its prerequisites.
  4. A non-degree student is allowed to register for a maximum of 9 CHs in the Fall or Spring semester, and 6 CHs in the Summer semester.
  5. For non-Saudi students, a valid Iqama.

Important information before filling the application form

Applications will not be received unless the 600 SAR application fee is paid.

Required Application Documents (PhD)

Official master's degree certificate.
Official master's degree transcript.
Official bachelor's degree certificate.
Official bachelor's degree transcript.
English test score record.
National ID / Iqama
(For Saudi / Non-Saudi applicants)
Passport
Resume or CV including list of publications.
Statement of purpose.
Three (3) Letters of recommendations.
Certificates verification (one of the following):
  • PDF of educational information from Tawakkalna (steps below).
  • Equation Certificate for Saudis who graduated from non-Saudi institutions.
  • Authentication document from the Mosadaqa portal confirming the verification of academic credentials.
  • Academic certificates stamped by the Saudi Embassy.

Steps to Generate PDF from Tawakkalna

Open the Tawakkalna app (توكلنا).

Tap on Personal (bottom right).

Select Resume.

Your educational qualifications will be shown - tap on your college.

Click on Generate My Resume.

A PDF will be created - save it and upload it to your application.
Note: All documents must be in English, and the file names must also be in English. Each file should not exceed 1 MB.
