Program Overview
The Master of Clinical Psychology is offered academically by the College of Medicine in collaboration with King Fahad Medical City (KFMC) for the clinical aspect of the degree. The courses of the Master of Clinical Psychology are designed as an applied program and includes a research/capstone project. Most of the courses have a practical element which will be applied at the Mental Health Department of the National Neuroscience Institute in King Fahad Medical City.
Clinical psychology provides continuous, comprehensive, mental health care with interventions for individuals, families, groups as well as communities including:
- Intellectual, emotional, psychological, social and behavioral maladjustments
- Disability and discomfort
- Minor adjustment issues as well as severe psychopathology.
- Consultation for agencies and communities
- Training, education and supervision
- Research-based practice.

Program Overview
The Master’s of Clinical Psychology (Child life track) is a program in collaboration with Abdulrahman Oasis Foundation. The program will educate, prepare, and empower future child life specialists of the highest caliber by educating future clinical child life professionals with the competencies, skills, and practice required to provide evidence-based, developmentally, and psychologically appropriate interventions and clinical child life services that meet the emotional, developmental, and cultural needs of pediatric patients and their families undergoing healthcare encounters or hospitalization in hospitals across Saudi Arabia and the world. The Program would be the first program of its kind in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. It would add to the array of clinical and psychosocial services currently being provided to pediatric patients and their families in hospitals and or healthcare settings.
Admission Criteria
- A bachelor's degree accepted by The Ministry of Education (MOE) in clinical psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, speech therapy, etc.
- A satisfactory scholastic average; a minimum grade average of "good" in the bachelor’s degree.
- A valid license from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) is required.
- Alfaisal Graduates or applicants who come from a country or political entity
where English is not the official language adequate proficiency in English to do
graduate work, as evidenced by

- Applicant should provide one recent letter of recommendation from professors who taught or from a manager at the workplace.
- The graduate study application must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee payable to Alfaisal University, which is equal to SAR 600.
- An Interview with the applicant may be requested if necessary.
Duration
Clinical Psychology is a 2-year program.
Tuition Fees
Students are allowed to repeat a maximum of 6 CH during their study without incurring extra fees. If students exceed the allowed CH, the normal CH rate will apply.
